Fantasy Football Start And Sit – Week Eight

nhl12mariolemieuxlegendsgoal

RECORD LAST WEEK: 11-9

OVERALL: 67-50-1

San Diego at Denver

Start: Peyton Manning, QB, DEN

Do not let the Chargers third ranked pass defense dissuade you.  Manning is a must-start at all times.

Sit: Branden Oliver, RB, SD

Oliver has been extremely efficient thus far, but the Chargers will find difficulty grinding it out in the mile high air.

Detroit at Atlanta

Start: Lions Defense

Expect some sacks and at least two turnovers against a ragged Falcons offensive line.

Sit: Matt Ryan, QB, ATL

Despite having tremendous weapons at wide receiver, Ryan has been aggravatingly sporadic.  A tough Lions pass rush means a rough day.

Chicago at New England

Start: Tom Brady, QB, NE

The Bears defense is on its heels, the team is almost in mutiny, Brady is being underestimated.  Any of that sound like 30 fantasy points to you?

Sit:  Alshon Jeffrey, WR, CHI

The Bears will try and limit Jay Cutler’s turnovers.  Which means fewer shots to his best downfield target, and more underneath routes for Marshall and Bennett.

St. Louis at Kansas City

Start:  Tre Mason, RB, STL

Mason had a fantastic game last week, and with Austin Davis facing the number two pass defense, expect Mason to get some real work in.

Sit: Alex Smith, QB, KC

Game managers may win football games, but they lose fantasy contests.

Houston at Tennessee

Start: Arian Foster, RB, HOU

This is the week the Texans will count on Foster to snap their losing skid.  Against a bottom-10 rush defense, Foster will oblige.

Sit: Kendall Wright, WR, TEN

Wright may be the number one wideout in Tennessee right now, but with Zach Mettenberger slinging the ball, that does not inspire confidence.

Minnesota at Tampa Bay

Start: Jerick McKinnon, RB, MIN

Despite a battle of the worst passing offense versus the worst passing defense, McKinnon is the one with game changing elusiveness.

Sit: Mike Glennon, QB, TB

Minnesota will try and control the clock, and against the putrid Tampa defense, that is an almost certainty.  Meaning Glennon will not get enough opportunities.

Seattle at Carolina

Start: Seattle Defense

While they have not been a fantasy power so far this year, the Seattle defense has a great chance to come alive against a battered Panthers running team and Cam Newton.

Sit: Kelvin Benjamin, WR, CAR

He may win Offensive Rookie of the Year, but Benjamin faces a tough test with Kam Chancellor and company this week.

Baltimore at Cincinnati

Start:  Andy Dalton, QB, CIN

A.J. Green may not play again, but Dalton will fire at will against a bottom-10 pass defense.

Sit: Steve Smith, WR, BAL

The Ravens offense is clicking, but Smith has a rough assignment this week versus Leon Hall.  Justin Forsett will continue to do the damage for the Ravens.

Miami at Jacksonville

Start: Denard Robinson, RB, JAX

Robinson has always been a terrifying athlete, capable of top-end speed, quickness, and agility.  Now that the Jaguars finally remembered that, Robinson should have a good game.

Sit: Lamar Miller, RB, MIA

The Bears defense resembles Swiss cheese blown apart by a machine gun, and Miller STILL could not break 80 yards.  Not a good sign.

Buffalo at New York (A)

Start: Buffalo Defense

Geno Smith equals a decent start… for the opposing defense.

Sit: Geno Smith, QB, NYJ

Geno Smith in Fantasy Football: not even once.
