Abe Asher’s College Football Picks – Week Fifteen

Amazingly enough, as the calendar turns to December, we find ourselves in week fifteen of the college football season. Fifteen weeks is a lot of weeks, and so this is the final week of the regular season – and for some, the first week of the postseason.

The three of you who have been following this space know that this season has been a struggle for me. As the losses piled up in November, there were those who suggested I might not be retained for the 2015 season.

Last week was almost doomsday, as I started out 0-5 with my picks before rallying to finish 11-7. With my season total at 124-58-1, here are the week fifteen and conference championship picks.

Oregon 42, Arizona 31 – Does anyone really think Mariota lets Oregon lose this game?

TCU 54, Iowa State 21 – When I picked Texas over TCU last week, I was joking. I just wanted to see if you were paying attention.

Oklahoma 45, Oklahoma State 17 – Honestly Mike Gundy’s famous meltdown was outdone last week by Rich Rodriguez who went certifiably insane on one of his lineman for getting a personal foul on a kneel down play despite the fact that his team had just miraculously won their (major rivalry) game and the Pac-12 South.

Alabama 41, Missouri 24 – That’s right Alabama, Mike Riley could be coaching you in this game instead of the double-headed devil tandem of Nick Saban and Lane Kiffin.

Baylor 45, Kansas State 31 – At least Bill Snyder’s candidate for Senate won. Too bad his K-State team is about as athletic as he is right now.

Florida State 18.1, Georgia Tech 18 – Just because they can, America.

Wisconsin 31, Ohio State 28 – I think this game is a toss-up, but with the amount of emotional hits the Buckeyes have taken in the last week, I’ll go with the Badgers.

Boise State 37, Frenso State 17 – Tim DeRuyter for Oregon State, anyone?
