Fantasy Football Start And Sit – Week Fourteen

-16

RECORD LAST WEEK (Week 12): 14-5

OVERALL: 124-84-3

Pittsburgh at Cincinnati

Start: Le’Veon Bell, RB, PIT

Cincinnati has the 25th ranked run defense, and Bell has been absolutely on fire the last few weeks.  Ride the hot hand.

Sit: Andy Dalton, QB, CIN

What happened to the “Red Rifle”?  Coming off what might be his worst start ever against Tampa Bay, Dalton will have difficulty against a Pittsburgh team fighting for their season.

St. Louis at Washington

Start: St. Louis Defense

While the Redskins are not likely to commit five turnovers like the Raiders did last week, their offense right now is not a whole lot better.  Robert Quinn is heating up with three sacks last game, and that means good things for the Rams defense.

Sit: Colt McCoy, QB, WSH

McCoy had some huge numbers last week… after Washington had no choice but to throw because the Colts were leading by more than two touchdowns.  In a closer game, I expect to see more Alfred Morris and less McCoy.

New York (N) at Tennessee

Start: Kendall Wright, WR, TEN

He is the go-to target for either Zach Mettenberger or Jake Locker, and should do well against the New York secondary.

Sit: Odell Beckham Jr., WR, NYG

Even with Beckham’s remarkable catching ability, the Giants offense is simply too inconsistent now that Fantasy playoffs are upon us, outside of Rashad Jennings.

Carolina at New Orleans

Start: Drew Brees, QB, NO

The Saints are fighting for their playoff lives, especially since no one wants to make the playoffs going 7-9.  The Panthers at home should be a good day for Brees.

Sit: Kelvin Benjamin, WR, CAR

The rookie is the real deal, but with Cam Newton struggling to throw accurately and Greg Olsen devouring red zone score opportunities, Benjamin’s value is down.

New York (A) at Minnesota

Start: Jets Defense

The Vikings offense stalled without Jerick McKinnon last week, and if he misses the game again, Matt Asiata and Ben Tate will have a rough day against the third ranked run defense.

Sit: Teddy Bridgewater, QB, MIN

He had an efficient two touchdown week last week, but threw for only 138 yards on 21 attempts.  He certainly is not going to win you any titles with those passing numbers.

Baltimore at Miami

Start: Ryan Tannehill, QB, MIA

The Ravens have the second worst pass defense this season, and the Dolphins are fighting to keep pace in the AFC East.  When in doubt, air it out.

Sit: Torrey Smith, WR, BAL

While he has eight scores on the season, only one of them has come against a team with a record over .500.  Miami should be able to hold him in check.

Indianapolis at Cleveland

Start: Andrew Luck, QB, IND

It is playoff time for those of us lucky enough to be in the running.  If you even think about deactivating Luck, even against a surprisingly tough Browns defense, you deserve the forthcoming loss.

Sit: Any Browns QB

It is quarterback controversy time with Johnny Football and Brian Hoyer.  These sort of things never end well for your fantasy numbers.

Tampa Bay at Detroit

Start: Matthew Stafford, QB, DET

The Lions are indoors against a below average pass defense, and Golden Tate is doing a decent Megatron impersonation.

Sit: Josh McCown, QB, TB

The Lions are a better defensive team than Washington or Chicago, and should easily hold McCown down.

Houston at Jacksonville

Start: Texans Defense

Jacksonville is nothing if not turnover prone, and the Texans should do fine even without Jadaveon Clowney.

Sit: Marquise Lee, WR, JAX

He had a fine week last time out, but with Bortles spreading the ball equally among his three recievers, asking any one of them to lead your team is an exercise in futility.

Seattle at Philadelphia

Start: Russell Wilson, QB, SEA

The Eagles have an above-average pass defense, but terrible run defense.  I expect Chip Kelly to overcompensate to deal with Marshawn Lynch, allowing Wilson to put up good numbers.

Sit: LeSean McCoy, RB, PHI

The last time the Seahawks faced a top-tier running back, he ran for 159 yards and two touchdowns.  I do not expect Seattle to repeat that.
