I went 9-7 during Rivalry Week, bringing my season record to 108-56. Here are my Conference Championship, week fourteen picks.
Houston 35, Temple 24 – Tom Herman and Matt Rhule just cannot wait to get the hell out of the AAC.
Baylor 41, Texas 31 – Charlie Strong’s last stand at Texas? He’d probably be a terrific hire for South Carolina.
Alabama 31, Florida 3 – The Gators should just walk off the field if they get a first down. That’d be mission accomplished.
Kansas State 34, West Virginia 31 – You just know that Bill Snyder is going to pull out the 6-6 season, make a bowl game, and continue coaching until the apocalypse.
Stanford 28, USC 21 – Newly anointed Trojans coach Clay Helton opens his tenure on the job full-time with Stanford, the bowl game, and ‘Bama to open up next year. Plus, Pat Haden is his AD. Good luck!
Michigan State 44, Iowa 24 – So long, sweet Hawkeyes.
Clemson 45, North Carolina 34 – Larry Fedora would probably have three major job offers lined up after UNC’s fantastic year if his name wasn’t Fedora and people could take him seriously.
Navy 27, Army 10 – Plus a bonus week fifteen pick. Navy beats Army again.
Thank you, long live Les Miles, and Go Timbers!
