Man, Pittsburgh has had the biggest love/hate relationship with Snoop Dogg. Honestly, go look at his Pittsburgh sports-related antics at that link. It’s enough to make your head explode.
He stayed in the good graces of Pittsburgh sports fans by lauding Sidney Crosby in an interview with Vancouver’s Breakfast Television. In the middle of a conversation about eating Wheaties, Snoop went off topic to give props to Team Canada on winning gold in Olympic hockey. While doing so, he reinforced his support for 87:
“I told you Sid the Kid was the business, man. I called it a long time ago. He’s the truth, the whole truth, so help me God.”
Was that last part inspired by taking the oath on the stand in court? Nice. We’ll respect that Snoop is a West-coast hockey fan, as he’s constantly spotted in Ducks gear, but he gets mad points by not following the ever-prominent Crosby-bashers. Hell, he was wearing Pens jerseys when Sid was 7 years old. Wow, that might’ve been too much perspective.
Video here. Snoop talks about Sid and team Canada at the 1:20 mark.
