Two days ago, in a pivotal Friday night home game in Brooklyn at Barclays, the Nets were able to overcome a shorthanded Chicago Bulls game down the stretch en route to a key win over a tough Eastern Conference foe. The Bulls, in addition to missing Derrick Rose, didn't have Carlos Boozer, Kirk Hinrich, or Joakim Noah, severely crimping their scoring ability.
However, that didn't matter much as the visiting team shook off a double-digit first quarter deficit to make the game much closer than it had to be. Eventually, the running-on-fumes Bulls didn't have enough left in the tank by the fourth quarter and watched as Andray Blatche and MarShon Brooks led the way to a Brooklyn run that clinched the game for the home team.
Looking Ahead
The Nets don't play again until Tuesday night at the Barclays Center until the fading Los Angeles Lakers, a team that narrowly edged Brooklyn earlier in the season in SoCal. Dwight Howard (blegh) may miss the game with his recent shoulder tear, an injury that precluded him from the Lakers' win today in Detroit over the Pistons.
