Game 53 Preview: Denver Nuggets (33-20) at Brooklyn Nets (30-22)
Coming over from the 76ers this summer, Andre Iguodala is the backbone of the Nuggets and has brought the team a menacing defensive wingman who has totally revamped this team's outlook and intensity on the non-offensive end of the floor

Where: Barclays Center; Brooklyn, NY

TV: YES Network

For the first time in awhile it seems, it appears that the Nets will enter a game being more hot than the team they are facing. Brooklyn won a confidence-building overtime decision in Indiana against the Pacers on Monday night, powered by inspired performances from Reggie Evans, Tyshawn Taylor, and Gerald Wallace. The Nuggets, who have dropped their last two games in Boston and Toronto respectively, will be taking on a Nets team without Deron Williams.

However, they also have their own injury troubles to deal with as both Andre Iguodala and Daniol Gallinari will both miss this evening's contest with, respectively, a strained neck and sinus infection. Iggy and Gallo, in addition to Javale McGee (sore leg) and Wilson Chandler (groin), who will each play tonight, missed either all or part of the Nuggets' loss vs the Raptors yesterday. That means that three of these team's best players won't be in the lineup at the Barclays Center, which might lead to a game determined by the role players. If so, maybe we'll see another big game from Tyshawn Taylor like we did on Monday when the Nets beat the Pacers in Indy.

Probable Lineups

DEN- Lawson (PG), Fournier (SG), Brewer (SF), Faried (PF), Koufos (C)

BKN- Watson (PG), Johnson (SG), Wallace (SF), Evans (PF), Lopez (C)

Final Thoughts

The Nuggets have been atrocious on the road this year (11-17), are currently banged-up, and are riding a two-game losing streak after a nine-game winning streak. Considering that this is the last game for both the Nuggets and Nets before the All-Star break, Brooklyn might be able to steal one tonight from a Denver team that just wants to get into the break without any more injuries to their core players.
