Game 64 Preview: Brooklyn Nets (37-26) at Philadelphia 76ers (23-39)
Doug Collins, the 76ers' coach, has been blamed for much of the team's recent losing skid, in which Philly has lost five games in-a-row and 12 of its last 13

After starting the season 10-6, the Philadelphia 76ers basically been fading for months as the key piece they acquired this summer in exchange for Andre Iguodala and NIkola Vucevic, among others,–Andrew Bynum–has languished on the bench with a knee injury. That injury has cost him the entire season so far and Philly's play has clearly suffered from it, as the 76ers are currently ranked 29th in the league in scoring and are among the league's worst in a number of other categories, like point differential and offensive rebounding percentage to name a few.

Simply put, the 76ers are a bad team, mired in its worst stretch of play of the whole season. Conversely, the Nets are playing some of their best basketball in months, on a three-game tear after blowing through 3/5 of the Southeast Division. Deron Williams is looking like the superstar the Nets traded for a few years back, Brook Lopez can't miss shots right now, Joe Johnson has been struggling recently but is sure to turn around soon, Reggie Evans is grabbing every rebound in sight, Andray Blatche has been hotdogging his way to double-digit points left and right, and even C.J. Watson is looking like a starting point guard who just happens to come off the bench. One ice-cold team takes on a scorching-hot one. All the makings of a possible trap-game.

Probable Lineups

BKN- Williams (PG), Johnson (SG), Wallace (SF), Evans (PF), Lopez (C)

PHI- Holiday (PG), Wilkins (SG), Turner (SF), Thaddeus Young (PF), Hawes (C)

Final Thoughts

I touched on this above, but even with the shockingly different paths of success/failure these teams have been on recently, the 76ers have some dangerous guys for Brooklyn to watch out for, like Jrue Holiday, Dorell Wright, and even the Youngs–Nick and Thaddeus. This isn't a gimme, rather far from it.
