Terry spent the 2012-13 season with Boston before heading over to Brooklyn in "The Trade" |
The Brooklyn Nets haven't played since last Thursday (a home win vs the Miami Heat) and don't play again until Wednesday (in Boston versus the Celtics). However, that doesn't mean new developments and news surrounding the team stop in any way.
The much-anticipated visit of the Nets to Boston this week is losing much of its vigor as the two main players sent to Brooklyn from the Celtics in June's trade, Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce, won't suit up for action on Wednesday. The Nets or Jason Kidd didn't give much of a specific reason for why the pair won't play, but it's likely tied to the unnecessary emotions and distractions the return would lead to. Looks like Brooklyn would just rather have the long-time Celtics face their old fans in a more ceremonious way during the regular season.
Another former Celtic in Jason Terry, who has yet to play in a preseason game this year, will play on Wednesday since he needs to get at least some game action under his belt before the season starts in just over a week.
