Game 15 Preview: Los Angeles Lakers (7-8) at Brooklyn Nets (4-10)

Kobe Bryant (Achilles) probably won't suit up for the Lakers tonight, which is a good thing for the Nets

After a too-close and not-so-comfortable win last night in Toronto that snapped their season-high five-game losing streak, the Nets head home the day before Thanksgiving to face off with the Los Angeles Lakers, sans a superstar, but with a player the team is familiar with.

Los Angeles, coming off a game yesterday as well, lost to the Wizards in our nation's capital on Tuesday night, falling below .500. Mike D'Antoni's squad, like the Nets, has had its share of road struggles so far this season, as the Lakers have just one win (and five losses) in games played outside of the Staples Center. Kobe Bryant (Achilles) still has yet to make his much-rumored season debut, and his absence has been harshly felt as the normally-explosive Lakers are only 13th in the NBA in scoring.

Also, former Net Jordan Farmar is back with the Lakers–the team he won back-to-back titles with in 2009 and 2010–after playing in New Jersey for two years, then Turkey, with a short stint in Israel to boot. Jordan was a solid back-up point guard on some really bad Nets teams, and shares a birthday with me (November 30th) so it's fair to say he's a favorite of mine.

Probable Lineups

LAL- Steve Blake (PG), Jodie Meeks (SG), Wesley Johnson (SF), Jordan Hill (PF), Pau Gasol (C)

BKN- Shaun Livingston (PG), Joe Johnson (SG), Paul Pierce (SF), Andray Blatche (PF), Kevin Garnett (C)

Final Thoughts

Brooklyn's injury quartet (Terry, Andrei, Brook, Deron) are all still out for yet another game tonight, so expect Joe Johnson and Andray Blatche to bear the brunt of the scoring responsibility on offense. It would be nice for the Nets to steal a home win against a banged-up Lakers squad, but with their own injuries to deal with, it won't be easy.
