John Wall against Deron Williams is about as good a point guard matchup as there is in the NBA |
When: 7:30 PM; Wednesday, December 18th, 2013
Where: Barclays Center; Brooklyn, NY
TV: YES Network
Brook Lopez is back in the starting lineup, the Nets are winners of four of their last five, and Brooklyn is taking on a Wizards team that has four of its last five. Could there be better conditions for Jason Kidd's team to finally reach double-digits in wins?
The Nets are nearly at full strength for the first time in a few games, and now they are playing at the high level they were expected to when this season began. Brooklyn is coming off an absolute trashing, 130-94, of the Philadelphia 76ers in which they hit 60 percent of their field goals (and three-pointers too). Joe Johnson went off, scoring 29 points in the 3rd quarter (and 37 for the whole game) and the rest of the team contributed nicely as Deron Williams added a double-double and Andray Blatche dropped 20 points to boot.
Although they've been playing poorly as of late, the Wizards won their most recent game as well, knocking off the Knicks with a Bradley Beal layup as regulation wound down. Washington was up by double figures in the first half but blew a big lead in the third quarter, only to regain it, for the eventual victory, in the fourth.
Probable Lineups
WAS- John Wall (PG), Bradley Beal (SG), Trevor Ariza (SF), Trevor Booker (PF), Marcin Gortat (C)
BKN- Deron Williams (PG), Joe Johnson (SG), Alan Anderson (SF), Kevin Garnett (PF), Brook Lopez (C)
Final Thoughts
Another game against an inferior opponent, another game the healthier Nets should be able to win, especially when it's at home.
