Game 43 Preview: Toronto Raptors (22-21) at Brooklyn Nets (20-22)
Will today be the day Deron Williams returns to the Nets' starting lineup? Nope, not yet

When: 7:30 PM; Monday, January 27th, 2014

Where: Barclays Center; Brooklyn, NY

TV: YES Network

Last night's game, and win, over the Boston Celtics at TD Garden was certainly hard for the Nets as a team, and for Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett individually. The two, both longtime Celtics, made their first emotional return to Boston yesterday as the Nets struggled to put away a rebuilding Celtics team without a whole ton of talent.

The victory improved Brooklyn to 20-22 on the season, and 10-1 in January of 2014, a mark they look to better as they take on the DeMar DeRozan-less Raptors at Barclays tonight. Toronto, the only team to have beaten the Nets in 2014, is without DeRozan (ankle), who always puts up a ton of points when he plays in Brooklyn. Terrence Ross, who broke an NBA record this Saturday as the only player in league history averaging less than 10 points to score 50 or more in a game, will have to lead a Raptors team that is currently in 1st place in the Atlantic Division.

Probable Lineups

TOR- Kyle Lowry (PG), Steve Novak (SG), Terrence Ross (SF), Amir Johnson (PF), Jonas Valanciunas (C)

BKN- Shaun Livingston (PG), Alan Anderson (SG), Joe Johnson (SF), Paul Pierce (PF), Kevin Garnett (C)

Final Thoughts

Deron Williams is still going to be coming off the bench, since Shaun Livingston as the starter has only produced wins for the Nets, no losses. Until this current starting unit fails, it looks like Deron will continue to act as a reserve. Jason Kidd is saying that if it ain't broken, don't fix it, basically.
