It’s showtime. Tonight, in Game 6 at Barclays Center, with the Nets down 3-2, the boys from Brooklyn have one last chance to force a deciding Game 7 to save their playoff lives. Brooklyn went down 26 points in the third quarter on Wednesday night and eventually came all the way back to tie the game in the fourth before fading late for a tough loss to make this game all the more important.

Joe Johnson, with a team-high 30 points, engineering the third and fourth quarter comeback, scoring nearly at will in the paint on a Toronto defense that doesn’t have a single defender who matches up well with him.

Joe’s lane-floaters and even some jumpers were on point, making his offense come from a variety of places and that much harder to guard. The Nets would be hard-pressed to find a way to win this game if they don’t continue to look to Joe for constant scoring, especially when/if the other Nets go through one of their patented scoring droughts.

Probable Lineups

TOR- Kyle Lowry (PG), DeMar DeRozan (SG), Terrence Ross (SF), Amir Johnson (PF), Jonas Valanciunas (C)

BKN- Deron Williams (PG), Alan Anderson (SG), Joe Johnson (SF), Paul Pierce (PF), Kevin Garnett (C)

Final Thoughts

Win and keep playing or lose and go home for a long and depressing summer. Those are the Nets’ only two options right now and I really hope they pick the first one, because I want to see this team succeed, as I know it does as well. I’m also not ready to stop watching meaningful Brooklyn playoff basketball just yet, so the dream better not die tonight.
