Tonight, the Brooklyn Nets finish off their preseason against the team–and in the building–where they will begin the regular season. One week from now, against the Celtics, the Nets will start their hopeful journey to the playoffs for a third consecutive year.
Brooklyn will be without a lot of key players for the finale, though, as Deron Williams (rest), Markel Brown (stomach virus), Kevin Garnett (stomach virus) and Brook Lopez (sore foot) all didn’t make the trip up to Boston. That means we will see a lot of Bojan, Mirza, Jerome Jordan and even Cory Jefferson or Willie Reed possibly.
Therefore, there isn’t much intrigue for this game and most likely not a lot to be taken from it in terms of valuable information. It’s the last chance for borderline roster players–such as Jordan–to prove themselves worthy of a spot in the team and not in the D-League. The regular season can’t come soon enough.
Final Thoughts
I’ve had enough of the preseason already, and the Nets have played two less games in it than most other teams. If that doesn’t say it all, I’m not sure what does. Also, it’s time for some of these games to actually count. ONE WEEK UNTIL THE REGULAR SEASON AHHH!
