Netlinked 10/29/14: THE REGULAR SEASON IS FINALLY HERE

Honestly, I’m not sure I could deal with another Nets preseason game without spontaneously combusting. Thankfully, I don’t have to worry about that anymore, as the Nets’ regular season is set to begin in just a few short hours with a road matchup against the division rival Boston Celtics at the famed TD Garden.

The NBA season started yesterday, with the Pelicans (and former Net Ryan Anderson beating the Magic, Spurs edging the Mavericks (who have a bunch of former Nets) and the Rockets crushing the Lakers (whose rookie Julius Randle suffered a brutal leg injury).

Here are some quick links to get you ready for tonight’s opener:

Brook Lopez is officially out for the game with his sore foot. When he originally suffered the flare-up on October 15th in one of the China games against the Kings, he wasn’t expected to have any shot at playing in this game. That became up in the air a few days ago, but the team made the smart decision to not rush him back to the floor.

Meanwhile, the Celtics’ injured star, Rajon Rondo, still hasn’t announced whether he will play or not. If you don’t remember, Rondo broke his hand in September in a fall at his home.

We’ll finish up with Deron Williams talking about how he feels no pressure for this season because of how he thinks everyone has already written him off. That’s the attitude the Nets want from Deron if he’s going to regain his All-Star form.
