Just like when the Heat came into Brooklyn and beat the Nets back in November, Miami is missing a ton of key players and once again, have made this matchup into a must-win for the home team.
It was a must-win last month and is no different now. Chris Bosh (calf) and Josh McRoberts (knee) are both definitely while Dwyane Wade (illness), Danny Granger (illness) and Justin Hamilton (quad) are all also questionable to play. Even if all three of those guys play, they probably won’t be at 100 percent and shouldn’t pose too much of a threat to the Nets, who are on a two-game winning streak.
However, playing bad teams at home, or even just heavily injury-stricken teams, hasn’t stopped the Nets from losing this season.
Joe Johnson and Deron Williams (Brook Lopez is still out with his lower back injury) are still in there for Brooklyn as is the rest of the supporting cast so there are no excuses tonight, none at all. When these teams played at Barclays on November 17th, Miami was without Luol Deng and Dwyane Wade but still won even with the Nets being fully healthy. That can’t happen again.
Probable Lineups
MIA- Norris Cole (PG), Dwyane Wade (SG), Luol Deng (SF), Shawne Williams (PF), Justin Hamilton (C)
BKN- Deron Williams (PG), Joe Johnson (SG), Bojan Bogdanovic (SF), Kevin Garnett (PF), Mason Plumlee (C)
Final Thoughts
Classic trap game. Nets have to get off to a good start and bury the Heat early, especially considering Brooklyn takes on the Raptors up in Toronto tomorrow night.
