They won’t tell you anything.
In the lead-up to the Pro Football Hall of Fame inductions, the NFL Network is profiling four of the inductees. The Hangman isn’t among them.
Ed Sabol, Marshall Faulk, Shannon Sharpe and Deion Sanders will be profiled by NFL-N in one-hour specials. Chris Hanburger, the Washington Redskins’ nine-time Pro Bowler will not be. Neither will Richard Dent nor Les Richter, but I do not write about Bears or Rams.
You might say that ex-Redskins Deion Sanders will be honored by a one-hour special. But nobody in Washington uses “Redskins” and “Deion” in the same sentence ever. Well, at least not since the debacle that was 2000.
Hey, I get the time factor here. The last time Hanburger terrorized the NFL was 1978. Half of Redskins Hog Heaven readers have no first hand recollection of the guy. But that explains why a profile on Hanburger’s career is so neede
Perhaps if Hanburger made regular appearances on NFL-N as do Faulk, Sharpe and Sanders. Sabol’s NFL Films library is often featured. Even Redskins GM Bruce Allen appears in the tribute to Sabol.
They just don’t want you to know.
