Deron Williams may be injured and won’t play tonight (rib), but the trade that sent him from the Jazz–the team that drafted him–to the Nets is still being impactful today, as evidenced by Utah’s starting lineup.

Derrick Favors and Enes Kanter (as a first-round pick), Utah’s starting frontcourt, were two of the four pieces that went from (then) New Jersey to Utah and both have developed into really solid young big men that are part of a strong Jazz nucleus with Trey Burke, Alec Burks, Gordon Hayward and Rudy Gobert, to name a few.

The results have been too great for Quin Snyder and his team yet but the future is definitely bright across the board and much of the hope can be owed to the D-Will trade which essentially rebuilt the franchise with one single transaction.

Probable Lineups

BKN- Jarrett Jack (PG), Bojan Bogdanovic (SG), Joe Johnson (SF), Kevin Garnett (PF), Mason Plumlee (C)

UTA- Dante Exum (PG), Joe Ingles (SG), Gordon Hayward (SF), Derrick Favors (PF), Enes Kanter (C)

Final Thoughts

After Thursday’s drubbing at the hands of the Clippers, the Nets are back to seven games under .500 and need a win to hold their No. 8 seed in the current Eastern Conference postseason standings. The Jazz are a talented team but haven’t been able to put it together yet so it’s another winnable tilt for a Brooklyn team without two key players.
