Printing ticket as “Robert” Helu is brilliant marketing move by Redskins

"Robert" Helu ticket error

DC Sports Bog and Pro Football Zone laugh at the Washington Redskins (again) for what appears to be printing mistake in picturing “Robert” Helu on tickets for the Vikings game. They are wrong. This is a brilliant marketing move. Fans are loyal to teams, but they follow players.

Robert Griffin III is pictured on Game 4 tickets. Without throwing a pass under fire, Griffin 3rd is already the face of the franchise. His jersey is the second best selling in the NFL. Only Peyton Manning’s draws more business. RG3 will be the most drafted Redskins player on fantasy teams. The buzz around the Washington because of him is unlike anything I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen a lot.

So why not tag the rest of the team with RG3. Is the team name controversial? Change it to the Washington RG3skins. The first names of six players on the training camp roster begin with the letter “R.” Hereafter, they shall be named “Robert,” as in Robert Grossman and Robert Doughty. The practice facility is now Robert Griffin III Part in Ashburn Virginia.

Maybe I should change the name of this site to RG3 Hog Heaven. Brilliant.
