Recriminations point to the Redskins franchise leader. Will RG win three?

We had a right to expect better.

We have a right to demand more.

We were bushwhacked by the magnitude of the suckitude.

Robert Griffin III asserted his leadership last week. Talk is cheap. Actions speak.

Recriminations have begun.

NFL analyst Rodney Harrison on RGIII: I think you have to get rid of him.

DC FOX 5 news anchor Tony Perkins says he quits as a Redskins fan.

Redskins alum and local analyst Brian Mitchell ripped the team a new one. It’s who he is. It’s what he does.

DeSean Jackson put his finger on the issue. The 2014 Redskins are not good enough to win.

Redskins-baiter Mike Florio takes an early look at the grim options for RG and the team on extending his contract. Griffin has not made the case that he is the guy.

DC radio’s Sports Junkies compare Griffin to Vince Young, saying they do not expect him to be in the league at age 30.

Sports writer Rick Snider calls RGIII a bust. He was diplomatic about it, though.

At least they did not compare RG to Ryan Leaf, but Florio or someone will get to that soon if Griffin does not win more games than Kirk Cousins or Colt McCoy.

Speaking of McCoy, fans in the stands: “WE WANT COLT!  WE WANT COLT!” Hog Heaven: OMG! OMG! But how can I refute the sentiment when Josh McCown out-performs our guy.

The Redskins lost two offensive lineman during the game, Pro Bowl tackle Trent Williams and guard Shawn Lauvao. When emotions cool and the vents and rants subside, we will all pay more attention to that important development.

Will RG win three games this year? Wait. That was piling on. Sorry. I take it back.

Hog Heaven is pretty mellow about all this. Yes disappointed, but mellow. When you are old enough, you have seen it all. The Redskins went 6-8 the first year I watched them live. Men wore their Sunday suits and carried silver flasks to the game. Two thoughts dominated that crowd.

  1. Why can’t the Redskins play like those other teams?
  2. Faith that better days are coming.

And they did…after G.P. Marshall died.
