Hog Heaven is a long-time Daniel Snyder critic. You know this if you are a regular reader. (Thank you for that.) Our comments are not Snyder hate. We like that he grew up a Redskins fan. We do not have an out of town owner who is a threat to move the team, or who will bend with every PC breeze.
Snyder and his partners bought an NFL franchise for $800 million that today is worth $2.3 billion. He is good with numbers. He has never been good at running a business organization.
Consistent losing is not the problem. It is a symptom of the problem.
We don’t want Snyder to sell the team. We just want him to get genuinely better as a chief executive officer.
- Better strategy for the entire Redskins experience.
- Better definition of “Redskins football” that guides every part of the organization from who to hire, to the players you select, to concessions, to the worldwide fan experience.
- Better feedback loop for what worked in player acquisition.
- Better business process improvements that are boring, but sorely needed.
The Redskins cannot become a Super Bowl-caliber team until Snyder becomes a Super Bowl-caliber owner.
After 14 years of active management, we should see signs of progress by Snyder in all those areas. Sadly, we do not. Sadder still, we have no reason to expect hope for improvement.
Hog Heaven want to hear about improvements that Snyder and Bruce Allen are making in themselves before hearing about improvements in personnel.
