Did Redskins “unhire” Joe Barry as new DC?

Marcus Foligno, Drew Stafford

Back in 2008, the Redskins dumped Jim Fassel as head coach before they even signed him to the job. Owner Dan Snyder and then vp of football operations Vinny Cerrato claim they were too busy to notice the “Fire Jim Fassel” web pages that sprung up faster than mushrooms in dank places.

Are they doing the same now to Joe Barry? Fan social media response has not been supportive of the man who was the Lions’ DC in a winless season. After reports on NFL.com and other media sites that Barry was their guy, NBC-DC sports writer Dianna Russini says the Redskins haven’t closed the deal yet.

Russini is the reporter who said that Kirk Cousins would demand ask for a trade if the team named RGIII starting quarterback without giving him a chance to compete for the slot. Cousins held his own press conference to say it wasn’t so.

I donno. Maybe the Redskins feel they owe Rusinni one. Or perhaps they are giving Barry the Fassel treatment. Either way, Hog Heaven palms his forehead and repeats…,

…”My team is a joke.”
