“Fans are in need of hope, any little sign that our team can exceed the low expectation we have of them. We are looking for Gruden to leave his comfort zone to embrace more of the read-option, play-action that Griffin runs so brilliantly. We hope for signs that Griffin “gets it” by stepping into the pocket instead of dropping back from it, sensing when his receiver is about to break open to release the ball in 2.7 seconds. Will RG avoid sacks by throwing the ball away?
