AccuScore got it wrong projecting a Redskins win over the Packers in the Wild Card Round last Sunday. But they were close to nailing the predicted passing performance of the two Aaron Rodgers and Kirk Cousins.
Check it out.
AccuScore: “Rodgers is projected to pass for 267 yards and at least one touchdown.”
Rodger’s game stat: 210 yards, 2 TDs, 93.5 Rating.
AccuScore: “Meanwhile, a fired up Kirk Cousins is projected to throw for 300 yards and a 102.6 QB rating, which is better than the 95.3 Rodgers is projected to finish with.”
Cousins game stats: 329 yards, 1 TD, 1 rushing TD, 91.7 Rating.
Games aren’t played on paper. They are played on television. There are too many real life variables to that affect the outcome of games.
For instance, a surprisingly effective ground game in the second half diminished the need for Rodgers to throw for more yards. AccuScore surely did not foresee the six Pack sacks laid on Cousins that depressed his passer rating.
If you were picking starters for your fantasy team, however, then simulation houses like AccuScore might have something valuable to offer.
Curious trivia meaningful only to me perhaps.
