In their second-to-last preseason tuneup the 1-3 Nets host the 2-3 76ers at the Barclays Center for a Sunday afternoon matinee between Atlantic Division foes.
Brooklyn hasn’t played since Wednesday night, losing at home to the Celtics by a score of 109-105 while Philly lost two days ago to the Wizards. Both teams are missing a bunch of players due to injury, but the 76ers will have top 2015 draft pick Jahlil Okafor able to play after he sat out the last two games.
For the Nets, Andrea Bargnani is still out, and with the Nets finishing up their preseason schedule tomorrow night, theres’s a chance the former Raptor and Knick won’t be appear in a game for his new team until the games count later this month in the regular season.
Probable lineups
PHI- T.J. McConnell (PG), Jordan McRae (SG), Robert Covington (SF), Jahlil Okafor (PF), Nerlens Noel (C)
BKN- Jarrett Jack (PG), Wayne Ellington (SG), Joe Johnson (SF), Thaddeus Young (PF), Brook Lopez (C)
Final thoughts
Not much to take away from this game other than that the guys on the fringe of making the Nets’ roster — like Donald Sloan and Ryan Boatright, to name a few — are really the only players who have much to play for. How they play today and tomorrow will determine whether or not they have jobs on Tuesday.
