Frazee was reassigned to the Albany Devils, New Jersey’s AHL affiliate. The team sent Gelinas back to his junior team, the Chicoutimi of the QMJHL.
Frazee played in one preseason game, stopping nine of 10 shots in 23:12 of action during last Thursday’s 4-3 overtime loss to the Rangers. Gelinas also played in that game, recording one shot in 20:18 of ice time.
Nilson will head back to Sweden now that his tryout is over. Nilson only played in last night’s game, recording two shots on net in 13:05 of ice time.
The Devils now have 28 players on their training camp roster. They need to cut six more, and as the number dwindles, the decisions become more and more difficult. Several rookies are looking to survive, and there are some veterans trying to avoid becoming a cap casualty. This is when the cuts truly get interesting.
