In case any of you have been wondering, and judging by the emails and site traffic it is a dedicated handful, Subway Domer has hit the proverbial wall. That sounds worse than it actually is. As I have done annually, I am hunkered down inside the Subway Domer War Room preparing for National Signing Day.
National Signing Day kicks off the ‘Subway Domer Recruiting Spectacular’, ‘Subway Domer’s State of Recruiting’, and ‘Play On Playa’- as well as many other special posts in the weeks to follow. So, please forgive the “dead-air” as we get organized for the 2011 campaign.
Here are a few things that you may already know, but were still worth noting:
The returning 5th Year Seniors are:
- Mike Ragone
- Taylor Dever
- Andrew Nuss
- David Ruffer
- Gary Gray
- Harrison Smith
The Dan Wenger situation is still pending:
Dan Wenger is still waiting on a ruling from the NCAA that would grant him a 6th year of eligibility because of his two seasons that he missed due to injury. (2006 & 2010). The scholarship total is sitting right at the 85 man limit right now, so it is unclear what will happen if Dan does get granted his extra year of eligibility- especially if the Irish get another commitment for the 2011 class sometime between now and February 2nd.
Jersey Numbers?
I’m actually looking for some feedback from you the readers. What number changes will the current players undertake, and what numbers will the freshman put over their pads for the 2011 season. In case you didn’t know, Roby Toma is switching to #9 from #19. What else do you got?!
Site Maintenance
The website and the “company” will be going under quite a few changes in the coming months, and if you haven’t noticed… we have already had a major facelift. The changes will be to make the site more functional as well as easier for me to provide you with the greatest mediocre coverage of the Fighting Irish.
Thanks for reading this “announcement,” and stay tuned!
