As I was watching the Notre Dame Football awards show, I couldn’t help but feel sad. Seriously. The season of the sport I love so much is basically over. The team I bleed (AKA as blog) for is just about to close out the year. What’s next? College basketball?
I hate the NBA. There was a time in my life when I used to love watching pro ball, but those days are long gone, and I’m sure that the feeling will never come back again. Why? I’m not really sure, but it just seemed to run its course. The NBA I loved was the late 80’s and early 90’s NBA. That style of basketball, and its cast of characters was just awesome.
Through it all, I have always loved college basketball- until these past few years. Even after a great run by Notre Dame last year, I found myself just glossing over everything like I remembered how my love for the NBA started dieing. When I was a kid, there weren’t any in-ground basketball goals that I didn’t want to play with. If I saw a park with some hoops- I was playing.
Where is the love now? Where is the passion? I think it’s still there. I hope it’s still there- I’m just not sure how to find it.
Here’s hoping for a great college basketball season to get me back in the groove!
