Aaron Lynch Is Back

And with that tweet from Aaron Lynch’s mother, ND Nation can relax a little bit while knowing one of the brightest stars on the defense is back at school. Spring football has provided some “drama” before, but this was building towards “epic” status- had Lynch not returned.

This whole episode reminded me about just how young these college players still are, and it reminded me that during this new era of social media and instant reporting; shit gets crazy.Things happen so fast, that opinions are formed and “reported” almost as fact, leaving a wake of negativity and wild speculation.

Some people just completely cross the line of sanity, such as this post from a message board poster:

i can’t believe these kids are such bitches these days. I’m ashamed of our generation(s) sometimes.

Yes, because fights at practice with coaches and/or players never happened 20 years ago. Players never got homesick 20 years ago. Players were always happy with their situation 20 yeas ago.

Bitch, please.

This kind of stuff happens all the time, and to just about every program in the country- AND IT’S BEEN GOING ON FOR DECADES UPON DECADES. The only difference is that the microscope is now directly up the players asses instead of just being on them- or viewed at from a distance.

The World Wide Web Life has changed sports forever, and we now are privy to so much information that we didn’t even have a fraction of 20, 10, or even 5 years ago. The players haven’t changed (much), the way we follow the sport has.

So, Aaron Lynch is back on campus just like Brian Kelly stated that he would be in a pressed last week. These things happen from time to time, and we can all relax now- until Tyler Eifert tweets about two jumbotrons and black jerseys- and that Lynch just drove off campus in a UHaul….
