Alize Jones, a 5 star tight end that had been committed to UCLA for months, has committed to the Irish afterfinally decommitting from the Bruins. With Jones, it has long been “known” that this would be the final result at some point before National Signing Day. Jones announced his decision via Twitter with a series of tweets:

Jones also changed his Twitter profile to reflect his new decision.
With Alize Jones, the Irish not only gain a huge weapon on offense as he can play with his hand on the ground as well as the “flex” that past great Tyler Eifert did so well, but ND also gets a premier name late in the game. When it comes to recruiting, momentum can be king in the first quarter of the recruiting cycle and in the last quarter of the recruiting cycle. Could this commitment from Alize Jones help the Irish close the deal on any other prospects left on their 2015 board? Well, it won’t hurt, and it feels just a wee bit better that this comes against UCLA and in particular, Jim Mora Jr. who has been a thorn in Notre Dame’s side the past few years on the recruiting trail.
