First Period: The Flyers came out Flying in the first period. Taking advantage of the power plays early. Brayden Schenn gets the scoring going on a power play goal assisted by Wayne Simmonds and Shayne gostisbehere. About five minutes later, Jakub Voracek keeps things rolling when he scores another power play goal assisted by Claude Giroux and Shayne Gostisbehere. Flyers would lead 2-0 after the first period. All is good after one period of play.
Second Period: It all goes downhill once the second period starts. Flyers come out flat and take a few penalties and the Penguins score 3 unanswered goals in the second period. Trevor Daley starts it off with a power play goal. Later on,Sidney Crosby scores a goal assisted by Kunitz. About seven minutes later, Phil Kessel scores assisted by Crosby to make it 3-2. Very bad period by the Flyers. Very lucky to still be in this game.
Third Period: Like the second period, Flyers came out flat. And the Penguins make them pay. Phil Kessel scores yet another goal to make it 4-2 penguins. Flyers do make a late push to try and get back in it as the Penguins take a delay of game penalty with three minutes left and Claude Giroux makes them pay by scoring his 14th goal of the season to make it 4-3 in favor of Pittsburgh. Flyers make it interesting as Brayden Schenn cannot get his stick on a puck in the dying seconds of the game to tie it, and the Penguins win, breaking a 8 game losing streak to the Penguins.
