Simmonds Leads Flyers Passed Canadiens

chorizo

Period 1: Welcome back after a very long All-Star break. I had a couple of computer issues at the start but I ended up getting the game on and, seconds later, Wayne Simmonds scored a power play goal assisted by Brayden Schenn and Jakub Voracek. Steve Mason made some key saves early in the first period. This combined with tough play and fancy moves by Wayne Simmonds made it a very exciting first . The Flyers ended up on another power play and as soon as Giroux won the face off, Brayden Schenn buried on into the net, Jakub Voracek and Shayne Gostisbehere picked up the helpers. Shortly after the Schenn goal, the Canadiens picked up a power play. The Flyers did a good job keeping them from setting up but a nice play by Andrei Markov allowed Montreal to put one passed Steve Mason. 2-1 Flyers

Period 2: The curse of period 2 continues…After some back and forth play, the Canadiens tucked one in thanks to Jeff Petry. The Flyers failed to convert on a power play and some odd man rushes early in this period. Both teams had their fair share of penalties and chances, but neither team couldn’t break the tie. The game remained tie 2-2

Period 3: The story of the night was Wayne Simmonds, who found the back of the net again breaking the tie and putting the Flyers ahead. A crushing blow by Radko Gudas put Luccas Lessio on his back resulting in a game misconduct, even though it seemed like a clean hit. The Flyers managed to kill the off the major penalty. Even when you think the Flyers were going to Flyer(and allow Montreal to tie the game to force overtime), Matt Read sent one into the empty net to ice the game. The Flyers defeat the Canadiens 4-2
