Wayne Simmonds was ejected just over ten minutes into the contest against the New York Rangers. Simmonds received a match penalty for throwing a punch at Ranger’s defenseman, Ryan McDonagh in retaliation for a aggressively high cross check by McDonagh to the head of Simmonds. If anything, McDonagh's cross check to the head of Simmonds is suspension-worthy.

Match penalties all get seen by the league, but I can’t imagine Simmonds gets anything worse.

The NHL needs to hold these refs accountable. Simmonds took cross-check to head and they somehow missed it?

Wayne Simmonds just took on 2 dudes and left 1 Ranger lying face first on the ground after it. Wayne Train keeps rolling.
