Just when it seemed safe to report on the Raiders. They have a 2-1 record since benching quarterback JaMarcus Russell. The black cloud of allegations that had lingered over Tom Cable dissipated. Randy Hanson has returned to the fold for the Raiders in the personnel department.
It seems like an odd move for a professional sports franchise to retain an employee who had accused the head coach of assault. It would seem like the best thing to do would be to keep Hanson away from the organization. Tom Cable kept things diplomatic, “Right now my focus is this football team. That’s behind us and we’re moving forward.”

Washington Redskins coach Jim Zorn played for the Seattle Seahawks for the bulk of his career, back when the ‘Hawks were part of the AFC West. In the media conference call this morning, he recalled his years playing against the Silver and Black, “Well all’s I remember is as we played the Raiders, I go as far back as John Madden and Tom Flores. They had some great football teams back then. I just remember if we won the game or if we lost the game nobody walked off that field smiling. They were physical games. Because that was our rival up in Seattle. There was no love lost between the two teams. We just fought every inch of the way to win. We got a lot of wins. I do remember the AFC championship in the Coliseum in LA when the Raiders went to the Super Bowl that year they beat up on us pretty good in that game. We lost handily.”
