It is week 17 and once again the Oakland Raiders are left playing for pride, having long since known that their season ends this week. It was a disappointing year as the usual preaseason optimism combined with a strong opening day performance in a loss to San Diego to open the season. Those hopes gave way to a long funk, followed by a period of maddening inconsistency.
Sunday’s game against the Ravens will likley be the seventh blackout out of eight home games. Following this game, it will be eight months before the Raiders will take the field once again as the preseason will start and optimism will once again run high.
Fear not, just because the season will be ending, TFDS will not be slowing down. We will be working overtime though the offseason to bring you information on the coming roster changes through free agency and the draft. We will be bringing you our usual blend of news along with analysis of any and every move the Raiders make.
As the draft approaches we will unveil our third annual “Mocking the Draft” project, where not only will we have our mock drafts, but we will publish your mocks.
Thank you all for your readership and support in 2009. On behalf of the team here at TFDS, we wish you all a happy and safe New Year.
