Cable decision expected today

Al Davis and Tom Cable are slated to meet today to decide the future of Cable’s tenure with the Silver and Black. The expectation is that Cable will be relieved of his duties as head coach.

His won loss record was less than spectacular at 9-19. He was named head coach of a team in trumoil after former coach Lane Kiffin was fired four weeks into the 2008 season.

The elephant in the room will be the development or lack thereof from quarterback JaMarcus Russell. As it stands, Russell’s play was proven to be a huge factor in the failings of the 2009 Raiders. However, the word on the street is that Cable’s willingness to speak of Russell’s willingness to state the obvious and admit that Russell had problems with his preparation and professionalism.

It is expected that Cable will be fired today, and the coaching caroseul in Oakland will keep on spinning.

Stay tuned for updates as we get them.
