Justin Fargas released

Justin Fargas was released by the Oakland Raiders today, according to Adam Schefter.

Fargas was originally drafted by the Raiders in 2003. He had injury troubles throughout his career, but played in 92 games. He had 82 carries for 3369 yards, but his greater legacy will be for his intense style of play. He was known as “Crash Test Dummy” for his violent running style and propensity to make defenders pay for trying to tackle him.

Fargas led the team in rushing for three years, including running for 1000 yards in 2007. He is a three time winner of the Raiders “Commitment to Excellence Award,” which was voted on by his teammates.

It would not be a surprise to see the Raiders bring Fargas back if he doesn’t get other offers.
