The Raiders have added former Kansas City Chiefs defensive back Kevin Ross as their new defensive backs coach.
As a player, Ross teamed with former Raider Albert Lewis to form a dangerous defensive backs combination when they were both in Kansas City. He played from 1984 through 97 with KC, Atlanta, and San Diego. He was named to two Pro Bowls as a player.
As a coach, he spent 2008 as an assistant coach with the San Diego Chargers. He was not retained after their playoff loss. He was hired by the Raiders to replace Clancy Pendegrast who moved on to Cal-Berkeley to become the defensive coordinator.
