Defensive tackle Gerard Warren has been cut, according to Michael Lombardi.
This is a move that was recently predicted by ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Warren was acquired in a trade with the Denver Broncos prior to the 2007 season. He had big moments in Oakland, but he was never a consistent factor.
Warren was originally a third overall selection by the Cleveland Browns, who never worked out there. He was later acquired by the Broncos as they became the “Brown-cos” when they stocked up on former Browns defensive linemen in 05 and 06.
In his three years in Oakland he had 10 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, and 76 tackles. He was also part of a defense that could never get off the bottom of the defensive rankings against the run.
