I don’t understand this pick at all. This will be the fourth linebacker the Raiders have added this offseason. They bypass the much needed positions of defensive tackle and full back. They don’t add another body to the offensive line here. It really appears that Oakland has let Al Davis out of the closet here late in the draft.
6’2” 240 pound inside linebacker from Arizona State, Travis Goethel, can only be deemed as a special team’s guy at best. He started 41 games in his career with 228 tackles, 19 tfl, 2 sacks, three forced fumbles, three interceptions, and one fumble recovery.
