The Raiders have announced the date for the Raider Nation celebration. It will be Friday, August 27th from 4pm to 6pm in Frank Ogawa Plaza in downtown Oakland. Also scheduled for that evening is the Raider Fan Kickoff party at Ricky’s Sports Bar in San Leandro. The two events should give Raider fans plenty to get excited about heading into that weekend’s first home preseason game against the 49ers.
The Raiders are calling the event “Back to Football: The Raider Nation Celebration” and it will have it’s usual festivities with booths set up to purchase Raider merchandise and enter raffles for prizes. The Raiderettes will be mingling with fans(which is always a welcome sight) along with current players and coaches and tables for autograph signings by Raider Legends.
Admission is FREE and features autograph and photo opportunities with the Raiderettes and Raider Legends. This is also your opportunity to get pictures with the Super Bowl Trophies which will be on display.
The Raider Nation Celebration is scheduled from 4pm to 6pm, but why let the party stop there? While you are still bristling with Raider excitement, head out to San Leandro to Ricky’s Sports Bar for the Raider Fan Kickoff Party. The Party starts at 7pm and last until 1:30am. Be advised that this party is only for those 21 and over so drop the kids at home first.
The Kickoff party will be hosted by JT the Brick and features The Hazmat Boyz aka “Dem Raider Boyz” performing live. This is also the group’s video release party for their song “Total Eclipse” which features some famous(and Hall of Fame) Raider fans. The event also promises several other special guest appearances as well. There will be a $15 cover charge for the party. Patrick and myself will be there representing TFDS so if you see either of us, be sure and say hello.
After a day of meeting Raiders and Raiderettes, donning the Silver and Black, listening to Raider music, and partying with the Raider Nation, you should be more than pumped up enough to head to the Colliseum the next day to represent the Raider Nation in the battle of the bay.
