UPDATED: The deal is reportedly for two years and is worth up to $3 million.

According to multiple sources free agent defensive end Dave Tollefson has agreed, verbally, to sign with the Raiders.  He will provide depth on the line and also is a boost on Special Teams.

Tollefson was part of a bidding war today after visiting Green Bay, Oakland and Tennesse.  All three were vying for his services and he had an offer from the Giants, as well, where he’s been for the last five years.

Tollefson was drafted by the Packers in 2006 and spent time on their practice squad.  He signed with the Raiders in 2007 and was on the practice squad for a time as well as spending time in NFL Europe for the team but in October of 2007 the Giants signed him onto their active roster.  He played in their defensive end rotation for 5 years and through 2 Super Bowls.

Tollefson is 29.  He is 6’4″ and 255 Lbs.  Terms have not been disclosed and he has not yet signed a contract but according to beat writer Steve Corkran, a source has told him that the signing is “imminent and a mere formality.”
