With the 95th pick in the 2012 draft, the Raiders selected Tony Bergstrom, OT from Utah.
The 95th pick was a compensatory pick awarded to the team based upon a net loss of free agents from the 2011 offseason and was the Raiders first pick in the 2012 draft.
Bergstrom is 6’5″ and 313 lbs.
According to NFL.com he isn’t a strong blocker but has patience and vision and is able to pull, an essential in the Raiders zone blocking system. The Raiders have holes at both RT and LG and he could compete for either or both.
Bergstrom missed two years to be a missionary and is 26, so relatively old for a draft prospect but that’s not a big downgrade as he has plenty of serviceable years ahead of him. His maturity and character were not questioned in many different scouting reports.
