The future of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers may rest on One Digit of separation.

McCoyLC Greenwood painted his cleats yellow and raised his leg in the air after a tackle so the credit wouldn’t go to Joe Green! Here in Tampa, the only difference Gerald McCoy and Brian Price have is the one Whole Number on their back. Price will wear number 92, while McCoy will sport Roy Miller’s #93 from last season in an attempt to improve the Buccaneers run stopping efforts from dead last in 2009. While its tough to spot realistically anything in padless shirts and shorts, all reports are the duo come as advertised with an amazingly quick first step off the line. Of course, it was McCoy that had more fluidity than his teammate.Using the drills they went through, reports from camp say the duo had the quickest feet, most explosive steps, and more finishing power, which is equally important in September and October Florida Sundays. What is even a better indication of things to come, was the near instant leap to leadership that McCoy too; telling defensive linemates to finish drills correctly, and pushing for more effort. One of the biggest gaps in the Bucs defense in the last 5 years has not been at any one position, but in the lack of leadership on that side of the ball that used to come from Hardy Nickerson, Warren Sapp or John Lynch. WIDE RECEIVERS- The big risk of the draft was the taking of WR Mike Williams from Syracuse; and Mike Williamswhile it make take many years to figure out if that risk was well worth it or not, early indications are that Mike Williams is going to be a  contributor for the Pewter and Red. Williams stole the show according to Pewter Report’s Scott Reynolds. Reynolds described him as smooth and athletic, and in full possession of the afterburners he was famous for. He did have to leave early due to a calf cramp. OTHER GOINGS ON- Corner Myron Lewis was held out due to Abdominal Strains, and former DL Ellis Wyms was helping out DL coach Todd Wash. One of the QBs was Oklahoma State’s Bobby Reid, who was the subject of the now famous Mike Gundy Audio clip ” I’m a man, I’m 40″ fame. Without a doubt, the best coverage of camp is coming from the Pewter Report, and if you want serious coverage of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, that is where you need to get it from with a paid subscription and the insider articles you get.
