Sharpening the Images of the new Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Future Duo
Gerald McCoy did something a little different when he stepped onto the Tampa Bay Buccaneers practice field for the very first time. No he didnt pick up a blade of grass, nor did he do some ritualistic happening from college. Instead, he walked up and introduced himself to Hall of Fame Defensive lineman, and Fellow former Sooner Lee Roy Selmon. There is a difference between cocky and confidence. McCoy feels he will succeed already in the infant stages of his NFL career. When asked about the difference in speed between the Pro and College game, he responded with “It was a little faster pace than in college, but not too much. I was like ”Oh so thats how its gonna go? Alright…” The Buccaneers have expressed full confidence in rookie Punter Brent Bowden of Virginia Tech, who is the only punter on roster. When asked how he feels about this message delivered upon him he replied “I can come in here relax and just do my thing..not really worry about it, they have confidence in me and thats great.” If you think the defense got a boost with Price and McCoy, thats nothing compared to the Coffin Corner kicks Bowden specializes in. Bucs new corner Myron Lewis was picked in the 3rd round, along with some pretty well known other 3rd round special players Ronde Barber, Donnie Abraham, and Dwight Smith. While all those players all came in the same round, physically he more closely resembles 2008 1st round selection                                   and fellow corner AqibMyron Lewis Talib. Raheem Morris has noticed the similarity between the  two, and Myron Lewis when asked about his talents, replied “I’m just using my athletic ability, and smarts on the field, study film, and play fast with the guys around me”. Another corner on the Bucs is 7th round draft pick Cody Grimm, son of Russ Grim, one of the former Hogs; name given to the first full 300+ Pound Offensive line of the Washington Redskins back in the 80s.  Grimm had this to say about life in the NFL….”It’s Crazy to see myself in a different jersey besides a Tech one. Everyones a lot faster and stronger”. Arrelious Benn is a fast, strong, physical, and a punishing runner both before and after the catch. He fell from 1st round to 2nd and Bucs traded up 3 spots to get him. Benn could turn out to be Tampa Bay’s first true Pro Bowl Wide Receiver draft choice.    He will wear Keyshawn and Ike Hilliard’s number, but will look more like an Antonio Bryant for those who cried to the Bucs for getting rid of the man. Instead we have potentially the same player, hopefully without the ‘tude, and for the next ten years, not next 2.
