Yet more proof overspending in Free Agency isn’t the answer for the Bucs

Yet more proof overspending in Free Agency isn't the answer for the Bucs
Thankfully the deal to acquire Haynesworth went sour or we would be paying for that mistake for years to come.
Nolan Nawrocki of Pro Football weekly is yet another of the many astute people who have seen the ridiculousness of teams trying to build a team through Free Agency, the way many pseudo Bucs fans want their team to do too. That is not to say you are not a fan if you disagree with Bucs management, but you are fake if you think you know BETTER than Bucs decision makers while you are at home on your couch, or hacking at your keyboard anonymously, hidden behind a screen and screen name. Nawrocki takes a look at the marquee free-agent signings the past four years, and it paints a disturbing picture of NFL ownership. More than 1.2 Billion dollars has been given to a mere 20 free agents during that time, with nearly half a billion of that guaranteed! Seldom has the production come anywhere close to matching the pay. The list of misspent money runs deep; Derrick Dockery, Javon Walker, Alan Faneca, Ken Hamlin, Gibril Wilson and Justin Smiley, to name a few, now no longer with the teams that lined their pockets- were note capital mistakes. Drafting and developing talent remain the highest priorities, but to consistently field a winning team requires great fiscal responsibility too!
