Don’t close the book on Sabby just yet; lessons from Lynch

Yes we know, you cant compare players. Gerald McCoy is NOT another Warren Sapp. Geno Hayes is NOT another Derrick Brooks, and Sabby Piscitelli is certainly not another John Lynch. Or is he? Long standing fans will remember No. 47 wasnt a star the first day he put on the Bucco Bruce for Tampa Bay, he didn’t start consistently until 1995/96. Sometimes Lynch took bad angles, some times he couldn’t wrap up a runner, as evidenced here in this video. Last season, you’ll remember the outcry over the ‘go up high’ tackle by Sabby in the @Saints game, in which New Orleans could have won the game in regulation, instead the Bucs took it in overtime. Here in 1996, the Bucs had a 13-3 lead over Seattle for a sure win, but gave up a TD drive to Seattle, then after the ‘hawks got the ball back stopping the offense, Lynch did the un-Lynch thing.

Lets give Sabby 2010, his 4th season as a Buc, just as 1996 was John Lynch’s 4th season too. It doesnt mean he will turn into a probowler, but if Lynch did, it just means Sabby could too. Because like Lynch, Sabby MAKES plays too, like Picks, Fumble recoveries, etc.
