It’s been 51 days since new Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn told Trooper Taylor and other members of Gene Chizik’s staff that their services were no longer needed at Auburn. Currently, Taylor and former defensive coordinator Brian VanGorder are the only two Chizik assistants without a new job.
Things could be looking up for Trooper though, as TCU recently hired Curtis Luper, an assistant from the same recruiting and occasional backwards hat-wearing cloth as Taylor. Though not towel-waving. That is Trooper’s territory. Though, in fairness to Luper, his sunglasses selection is superior to all sunglasses selections.
So, we continue to wait. Let us hope that an off-season filled with fake girlfriend gridlock and the NCAA’s delicious public display of being the asshats we all took them for, adds another layer of joy in the form of Trooper finding a new sideline on which to wave his towel.
