Johnny Manziel, of Heisman Trophy-winning, shirtless street-fighting, and haunter of Nick Saban’s dreams fame, made another appearance in the HURR DURR MY COLUMN HE’S OUT OF CONTROL reports this weekend. Allegedly, Manziel was asked to leave the Manning Passing Academy, where he was a counselor, after showing up late on Saturday morning due to spending Friday evening out and about in lovely Thibodaux, Louisiana, home of the passing camp.
The official release said he missed or was late for his duties because he was feeling ill, and that it was in everyone’s best interest for him to leave a day early. That is somewhat interesting, as the link above says Manziel was later spotted out and about at College Station establishments on Saturday night.
While I don’t doubt Manziel stayed out too late on Friday night, I’m not buying the staying out and drinking rumor that so many have accepted. No, I’m of the belief that Manziel got caught up in the sites and sounds of Thibodaux and wanted to bring that experience home for all of Texas A&M to enjoy.
And to provide your school, friends, and family a proper taste of Thibodaux, well, that kind of souvenir hunting takes some time.
