After a blowout loss, coaches and players are often fond of saying something like “we’ll throw this film in the trash and just get ready for next week”. The idea being the loss was of such a destructive nature that nothing can be learned from reviewing the avalanche of mistakes that helped contribute to the overflowing embarrassment of a 40-point loss.
It sort of makes sense to do that in the regular season, as preparation time is limited during the week and perhaps the best way to get over being destroyed is not a two-hour laser-pointing-and-yelling film session. However, we’re not in the regular season anymore, which means the idea of tossing this one in the garbage is GARBAGE.
We’ve got a giant-ass ocean of time before the next game, so we’ve got a few minutes or a thousand to focus on the many horrible things that occurred in Atlanta. You might be asking, why should we do this, which is an excellent question given that we all have stuff to do and there is so much internet to browse.
We’re doing it because we need to feel the pain, shame, and disgust right in our faces in order to make sure something like 42-3 doesn’t happen again. Throwing it in the trash is the COWARD’S WAY OUT.
BRING ON THE DISGUST OF EVERY OFFENSIVE PLAY IN THE PEACH BOWL.

TCU throws an interception

When your offensive line can’t protect, the best thing to do is call a pass play in your own end zone and ask your quarterback to dodge like five defenders to avoid the safety.
2nd and 10 at the OM 2: Bo Wallace interception for a TCU touchdown
I have always defended Dr. Bo (and will continue to do so), but he saved the worst decision of his Ole Miss career for this very moment. Why we were trying to throw, especially after what we saw on first down, I do not know, but history was made on this play.
